BURN THE MORTGAGE PARTY A FIREY SUCCESS!
The Clubhouse loan has been repaid to the bank and the Newport Shores turned out in style to celebrate the bank’s receipt of our final payment. Thanks to party organizer Gina Lesley, we had a great time telling “Shores” stories and recognizing the outstanding community leaders who helped plan and design our Clubhouse remodel project. All of our residents participated in the remodel with a dues increase, but the main leadership was done by Steve Puppo and Bill Guidero. Steve was the president of our HOA when the project was first suggested and Bill did the design work.
At our celebration party, we burned a very large copy of the loan document over an open fire and toasted marshmallows to use in delicious s’mores. Lots of good food, drink, and laughs were had by all. A special thanks for the game prizes and gifts that were donated by The Spaghetti Bender and Eat Chow. Thanks to both of our local patrons. If you missed out on this event, please try to attend our next Where’s the Party evening which is scheduled for August 17th. See below for more details!
PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE
I would like to start by stating my appreciation to Tom Higgs, Tori Rimlinger, and their crew of volunteers whose combined efforts created another successful July 4th Parade and Carnival. I don’t think we have an official head count, but all agree that it was the biggest turnout ever. Great job!
I’m also happy to report that as a result of paying off our mortgage and some reallocating of funds, our Reserve Account (funds held for long term repairs and replacements) has jumped from under 50% of required funding to approximately 77%. That’s a huge improvement and I’m looking for 95% by this time next year.
I will close by reminding everyone that this is the last newsletter that will be sent in hard copy form by regular mail. All future newsletters will be distributed by e-mail only.
