Newport Shores Holiday Home Tour & Boutique Thank you!
Thank you to the wonderful home owners who shared their beautifully decorated homes in our 23rd Annual Newport Shores Holiday Home Tour. Thank you to Chrissy Decker for coordinating a wonderful Holiday Boutique. We had a successful and fun day raising funds for our troops. The home tour and boutique are a lot of work for those who volunteered and for the home hosts who allowed friends, family and neighbors to tour their homes. I am so proud of our community for supporting this project.
Ashley and Blake Brewer were kind enough to call and offer their home for the tour when they heard we had lost one of the scheduled homes at the last minute. What a delight it was to meet this darling young couple. They put skill and effort into remodeling their single story house with detail and craftsmanship making it into a modern beach cottage. The result is a warm and cozy but very light and bright home.
Julia & Mike Correll again invited into their home to view their second home addition just as they did after they remodeled the first time. Wow! The house was fully decorated in all areas and there was a well-stocked bar on the third level where they have a sunset view deck. Their gracious hospitality was much appreciated in sharing their latest improvement to a home that keeps getting more beautiful.
Kevin & Suzanne Dunlap have made a real showplace on a very unique lot and a half on Lugonia. They have added some very special features such as a south facing outdoor area with a lovely built-in entertainment center adjacent to the kitchen. They have remodeled their house into a wonderful spot for a growing family to make their home. Their lucky children will have the beach, the pool and a grass yard at their disposal for fun.
The Eastman Family, Alison and Mark, are a repeat host family as well as the Correll’s. They shared their lovely and unique home on the canal. Their home also has grassy yard and it leads out to the dock for play in the canal. Their home has only been slightly changed since the last time we saw it but its blend of European antiques and modern classics makes it a lovely and special home to behold.
I also would like to thank all of the people who help me along the way in collecting money, creating, printing and handing out flyers, writing and sending emails. I could not put on the home tour or the Holiday Boutique without their help. And last I would like to thank all of the friends, family and neighbors who buy tickets to this event. All monies raised benefited our veterans through the American Legion Women’s Auxiliary. We raised $3500 and we look forward to raising even more next year.
Please contact me if you would like to showcase your home or volunteer next year. Thank you again to all you very generous people.
Thank you,
Kennie Jo Rizzo
