Home Tour 2017
The Newport Shores Home Tour has been a great tradition for the last 22 years. During this time, we have donated approximately $43,000 to support our troops overseas in conjunction with the American Legion. I want to begin with a special thank you to all to make this another successful year of fun for our neighborhood and giving to our servicemen.
Barbara Thibault always keeps the records accurate, printed the tickets and delivered them to each home. Gina Lesley delivered the flyers and “talks’ up the even in the neighborhood on her walks. Liz Slater and Liz Airth helped the host family with any need during the event that day. Chrissy Decker organized the Holiday Boutique (it is really growing and each vendor donates $25 to our charity). This is her third year in this position.
Last but not lease are our host families!!
Ryan and Leslie Long opened their newly built home with a baby that is less than one year old. They displayed a lovely book showing the old home, and its changes through the year in photo review.
Nick and Tammy Louis showed us their new construction with its lovely large yard–a lovely feature seldom found in Newport Shores.
Megan and Brent Duque shared their Canal home with new construction, hot-tub and their international family touches.
Howard and Gail Rich not only opened up their beautiful canal front home but they also donated $100 to the American Legion!
So gracious of these families to open their home to friends and families at such a busy time of year —truly an example of the spirit of community and giving in our community. We are so lucky to live in such a special place.
And of course a very big thank you to all who attended and/or donated. Together we made a great difference as we raised $2,800.
We are already planning our 23rd Annual Newport Shores Holiday Home Tour. Please contact me (949-466-7604) if you would like to join our committee or if you’d like showcase your home.
Thank you again to all,
Kennie Jo
