Thank You for Making a Difference!
What a wonderful time all who attended had at the 25th Newport Shores Holiday Home Tour. All who supported can be proud of the good deed of raising over $2200 for the American Legion. These funds were used to send needed gifts to our service men around the world. Just as a point of interest, we sent toothpaste, baby powder, white sox, gum, candy, paperback books etc. And of course we can keep the donations going all year if anyone is interested.
But back to the event–it is so much fun seeing those that have redone their homes and are proud to share their generous hospitality. It is great to meet some neighbors that you may have seen at the pool and will see again next summer. In addition to 5 home were showcased on the tour, the Boutique that was put together by Heather McCormick. Since we got donations and positive feedback we are going to expand that part of the day next year.
Homes on Tour:
Don and Marie at 215 Colton Street – Completely remodeled and added 3rd story deck with awesome views–this is the second time they have opened their home to the shores and they have only lived her a year.Gina & George at 500 Canal Street – Everyone has been to Gina and Georges yard for something –but few had been in the lovely tropical paradise they have created. Their grandchildren are professional decorators and I am going to use them next yearAngela at 227 Colton Street – Angela has a lovely home and does very exciting food preparation — I wanted to stay for another Frosty Martini but would have needed help home.

Rick and Lauren at 304 Colton Street – Lovely traditional home remodeled two years ago. Besides the outstanding décor, a favorite feature of many was the very professional bar in the Man Cave/garage. It is hard to believe they are raising 2 little girls in this spotless home.
Elizabeth and David at 239 61st Street – This stunning Mid Century Modern home was fully furnished in the style and is indicative of the time. Clean lines and remodel in a floor plan we have not seen before. We enjoyed their style and holiday hospitality!
I could not have done any of this without my trusted friend Barbara Thibault–keeping all the tickets money and lists accurate. It has been a good 25 year run.Our thanks to all who participated and we will see you next year. Once again if you missed this event, you can still support this important cause. Donations can be made to the American Legion Post 291 and sent to 511 Canal Street, Newport Beach, CA 92663.Thank you again,
